PROUD AS A PEACOCK (Items on Nashville Star, Billy Ray Cyrus, Kathy Mattea, Kenny Chesney, Loretta Lynn)

Here's another feather in Billy Ray Cyrus' (I'm sorry, I mean Hannah Montana's dad's) cap, a peacock plume, actually: He'll host this season's competition of "Nashville Star" as the show moves from USA Network to NBC. BRC said as much during an appearance on "The Tonight Show" last night.
NBC will play out the contest in early summer.

You Save Me: Kenny Chesney says a nice chunk of tickets to his Nashville extravaganza on the fifth of July will be discounted. Yeppers, it's in the "Shiftwork" section. They go on sale Saturday.
Check out Kenny's "Biography" on the Bio Channel tonight at 9pm est.

650 Rocket: Check out Kathy Mattea's Ryman performance from WSM last Friday night.

Thinkin' Problem: This lady from The Philippines loves country music...because she doesn't have to be very bright to noodle out the lyrics, she says.

PETA Pocket: Loretta Lynn lends a song to PETA so dogs aren't left out in the cold. Amen.
