Carrie Underwood's "Some Hearts" disc just passed seven million in sales, making it the best-ever seller for a female country debut in RIAA annals and for an "American Idol" alum album. But wait! She hasn't actually sold seven million...yet.
Carrie spills inside and smiles outside (on the cover) in the new country music edition of People magazine. People, meanwhile, is blazing bold journalistic trails with this hard-hitting piece on Carrie.
Look for Carrie's live performance (Brad Paisley, too) on the Grammy Awards Sunday night on CBS. The night before, she'll sing the title song on GAC's star-studded "How Great Thou Art" special.
Summer Timing: Tickets for some of Kenny Chesney's "P&P" shows go on sale Saturday.
Blonde Moment: Jessica Simpson and Dolly Parton recently discussed a duet deal. Look for Dolly in the pages of March's "Ladies Home Journal." Or just go here.
Brownie Points: Ex-"Nashville Star-" maker Anatasia Brown will still have a say in who makes it big,...kinda. In April, she'll unleash a book, "Make Me a Star: Industry Insiders Tell How to Make the Cut, Make the Deal, and Make It in Music" with a road map to stardom.
One Note, Three Nets: "Name that Tune" is coming back to television on CMT (and MTV and VH1). If you don't remember any of the old versions of the contest, here's a clip featuring one of the show's vocalists/Hee Haw Honey/future Regis sidekick/Frank Gifford wife:
