VAN LEAR PROSE (Items on Loretta Lynn, Kris Kristofferson, Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, Whiskey Falls, Taylor Swift)

Loretta Lynn, fresh from inducting her sister into Kentucky's Music Hall of Fame, has been selected as one of this year's inductees into The Songwriter's Hall of Fame, where she'll be joined by the likes of John Sebastian of The Lovin' Spoonful and the dude that wrote that co-wrote this ditty.
Loretta, meanwhile, got a real middling concert review from these folks in Florida, but at least will save a few coins on birthday candles after this correction by the paper.

Pollstars: Kris Kristofferson has endorsed Barack Obama, Tim McGraw endorses Kristofferson and Garth Brooks is on the ballot in Oregon.

Morning Shot: Whiskey Falls performed this morning on CBS' "Saturday Early Show."

Morning Blend: Taylor Swift will be the cover gal on April's edition of Blender magazine (On news stands March 11).
And Jeez! This guy from Cinema Blend really doesn't like country music.

Remote Patrol: "Opry Live" on GAC has Ricky Skaggs, Terri Clark, James Otto, Elizabeth Cook tonight....Alan Jackson's "Invitation Only" special debuts on CMT at 9pm est...Wilco musically guests on "Saturday Night Live" later while the gal from "Juno" hosts...An "Austin City Limits" repeat tonight has The Dixie Chicks.
