ICING CALLS (Items on Dierks Bentley, Merle Haggard, George Jones)

As Music City's hockey team heads to the Motor City tonight to take on the Red Wings in game one of their NHL playoff series, Nashville Predators fan extraordinaire Dierks Bentley will be among the celebrities blogging about playoff activity at NHL.com. You can check out Dierks' Preds' rink wrap here.
Dierks, whose road slate will keep him busy through at least September (even though the price of gas is putting the hurt on), says his shows are like a hockey game. "Like a confidence thing, a fight to win something. I always feel like we walk on stage and we win ... whatever it is that we're trying to win."
Meanwhile, here's some ice action with Dierks and the Predators' Jordin Tootoo:

...and the Problem Is?...: Red Wing Chris Chelios on Nashville fans: "They're hillbillyish. ... I don't know what to say, hillbilly or country."

It's 3:00 a.m.: ...Campaign '08 with analyst Merle Haggard, whose Hillary Clinton song, "Let's Put a Woman in Charge," can be seen here:
