Shania Twain and her husband, record producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange, are separating after 14 years together, the people at People report.
Besides their marriage and a seven year old son, Eja, their union resulted in zillions of records sold, once Mutt started working with her professionally as well.
It turned out that Mutt was a huge fan of Shania's debut album, which did just okay for a debut, yielding several minor hits. They started as phone buddies, Shania told "The Pat & Grant (radio) Show" in a 1995 interview, and soon were collaborating on songs...and wedding vows. It turned out that while Mutt was producing and writing for acts like AC/DC and Def Leppard, he loved country music, especially this guy.
Mutt brought his own unique sound to Shania's music and the rest is history. While, Shania's recent appearances seems to have been limited to the perfume counter at retail stores, she has new music in the offing, either later this year or next.
