LET THERE BE MARTY (Items on Marty Stuart, Connie Smith, Travis Tritt, Hank, Jr., Tracy Lawrence, Gretchen Wilson, Mark Chesnutt, Taylor Swift)

Marty Stuart's website just splashed on a new coat of paint in anticipation of the singer's big November.
And Marty ain't waitin'; a week from today,
Sparkle & Twang: Marty Stuart’s American Musical Odyssey starts a four month run at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum in Cleveland. Marty's trotting out over 300 goodies from his collection for the show.
On November 1, his new half-hour show on RFD-TV will debut. "The Marty Stuart Show" will also feature Mrs. Stuart, Connie Smith, as well as Grand Ole Opry announcer Eddie Stubbs (as Marty's sidekick) and special guests.
First month guests joining Marty are Little Jimmy Dickens, Earl Scruggs, the Tennessee Mafia Jug Band, Riders in the Sky and John Anderson. The Old Crow Medicine Show, Josh Turner and Kentucky Headhunters will be by in December.
You can grab a preview of the show on this blurb's bumper. November will also see the publication of an ambitious project: Marty's book, "Country Music: The Masters," which collects a slew of history lens over 300-plus pages. The tome also has a one hour audio CD with stories behind the photos on board. The book retails at a penny less than 50 bucks...double that price to grab a linen-covered edition autographed by Marty here.
And if that's not enough of the Marty Party, there's his November road show with ol' buddy Travis Tritt.

Ballot Boxing: Hank Williams, Jr. did a li'l "free associating" on FOX News this week on behalf of McCain-Palin. Here's a taste:

Neil Cavuto: She's (Sarah Palin) been taking some knocks lately, the latest on these clothes the Republican party bought for her. What do you think of that?"

Williams: "The what now?"

...Tracey [sic] Lawrence popped into Ohio to do some wailin' for Palin...Gretchen Wilson and Lee Greenwood were also in the Buckeye State for the G.O.P. ticket, which led to to this Palin statement with a statement: “Someone called me a redneck woman once. … And I said, ‘Why, thank you.’”

I Just Wanted You to Know: "Sixty Seconds with Mark Chesnutt."

'Ya Think?: From an L.A. Times blogging soothsayer: "The first major clue as to who will be receiving some Grammy nominations was announced (Wednesday) by the Recording Academy.Akon, Taylor Swift and Linkin Park will attend the Dec. 6 unveiling of nominations for the 50th annual Grammy Awards, to be held Feb. 10 in Los Angeles. It's a safe bet that the artists reading the nominations are usually good for a nomination or two."
