LINKIN' PARK (Items on Gatlin Brothers, Vince Gill, Kevin Costner, Chris Abbondanza, Keith Anderson)

The kids over at Golf Digest have ranked the top 100 musicians on the green and would ya believe that three spots in the top ten belong to Larry, Steve and Rudy...The Gatlin Brothers? Yeppers...and Rudy is the top, numero uno linkster with a fantastic handicap (according to the Digest and the way I read Rudy's number...on the other hand, I have no idea what I'm talking about). Steve and Larry, meanwhile finished 7th and 8th on the list. Elsewhere in the top ten, Diamond Rio's Marty Roe was third (just behind Kenny G., who topped this list the last time out), followed immediately by Vince Gill, who is followed immediately by Steve Azar, who is followed four slots later by Dan Tyminski.
Past the top ten, you'll find #12 Mac Davis, #20 Clay Walker, #25 Ray Benson, #28 Darius Rucker and then a tie at #34 between John Michael Montgomery, Rascal Flatts' Joe Don Rooney (collects scorecards), Glen Campbell (plays public courses), The Eagles' Don Felder and Kix Brooks (once beat John Daly and Arnold Palmer in a skins game...and again, I have no idea what that means).
Also in the 100: Pat Green, George Strait, Mark Miller, Anne Murray, Trace Adkins, Joe Diffie, Glenn Frey, Toby Keith, Carley Pride, Willie Nelson, Eric Church, Clint Black, Charlie Daniels and Kid Rock.

Baseball, Ray: Kevin Costner has recorded a ditty to rally on the Tampa Bay Rays in their first appearance in baseball's playoffs this year (via Game On). Tampa Bay Online has the news (and you can listen to the ditty there, too)...not for nothing, but Kev's character in "Field of Dreams" was named Ray and the title to this li'l blurb is what James Earl Jones says to him just before his baseball speech in the film...Meanwhile, the former singer of Pennsylvania's PovertyNeck Hillbillies, Chris "Abby" Abbondanza just visited my favorite field of dreams for a little batting practice and to perform the National Anthem...and did ya know that Keith Anderson almost played in the major leagues? Well, kinda sorta.
