BAM's Blog at The Oklahoman recently lassoed the brothers Montgomery for separate interviews in which she got them to talk about each other.
Younger sibling John Michael features the fam, who played in a honky tonk band, in a new tune on his latest album...
“My mom played the drums, my dad played the lead guitar and rhythm guitar, and they both sang. We had instruments sitting around the house all the time; I mean, dad used the amplifier that he played a lot of times as a chair, especially when he was picking on it…We had instruments for furniture a lot of times and we always sat around the house (playing).," JMM said. “And Eddie and I we just kind of grew up in that environment. To us, for a long time we just thought that everybody lived like that."
Meanwhile, Eddie, or Edrow, or Edweirdo (depending or which Montgomery is addressing him) expresses hope that "hopefully, we can hook up and do some more shows together.”
Elsewhere from the family reunion: Wanna win an autographed John Michael guitar? Sure you do...and check out Eddie's other brother's new ink.
Kid Rock of Love: In order to have a show on VH1, I thought you'd have to be trying to hook up with Bret Michaels or Flavor Flav. But, nah, they're still doing "Storytellers" and Kid Rock is lined up for a new one, which'll debut November 27.
Bama Jam: Teddy Gentry will join his ol' Alabama buddy Jeff Cook in the latter's new band, at least for one night.
Volunteer Jam: After a Tennessee lad hacked Sarah Palin's email, another son of the state could be in trouble for shagging Miley Cyrus' Gmail account.
Ballot Boxing: Take a celebrity (country music artist) endorsement of a political candidate with a grain of salt, sez this DJ op-eding in his local paper...Phil Vassar agrees, sort of.
